One of our local tobacconists recommended this to me last week, and to be honest, I snubbed it for a tin of Peterson Sherlock Holmes, not mad about it because I enjoyed the Sherlock Holmes, but today I picked a pouch up after watching this review and I gotta say my personal review, honestly I loved it lol saw it did have mixed reviews but I suppose I fall into the category of those who enjoy this blend!

Smoking Captain Peg n Gold, a local blend similar to Lane 1Q, in a Peterson 307 System. I struggle tasting all the flavors, but I’m working on it.

After Covid, I can’t taste and smell the same. I just recently started pipe smoking. I have this blend, but all I get is the smokiness and the (I guess) incense oriental taste. It almost reminds me of a nice laundry detergent smell (but taste) to me. Sounds weird, but it’s nice. I am worried I’ll never get to taste what it was meant to taste like. :(

Can you review Sutliff Molto Dulce? Heard a lot of good things but haven't tried it yet and haven't noticed it in your reviews. Thank you for the awesome content though, I really enjoy smoking with you :)

35 years italian smoker and pipe collector. Tested all three, some flakes are better with one way, some with others but my preferres is the third one. I also have seen little strips, all flake long, interwinted and lightly pressed...thank you.❤

I really need to get into more of the common old blends. The only one available at my local shop/lounge is Prince Albert. It’s been on regular rotation for years, but I enjoy it thoroughly and it’s past time that I tried another codger burley blend.

Hey Kevin. I tried pipe tobacco about 10 years ago, liked the flavor but didn't UNDERSTAND it. So after only smoking a bowl a few times, I tossed everything. I don't even remember the tobacco I had but I remember it being an aromatic. I kick myself because I didn't know it would last forever! Anyway, I listened to all of the LOTR and The Hobbit audiobooks, then watched each of the movies after each book. It reminded me of the existence of pipe smoking. I am a nicotine enjoyer (I used to smoke cigs, used to vape, started nicotine pouches a year ago and sticking with those). I got into cigars last year and I like them, but I find many taste the same and there are only a few I truly like. After going through Tolkien's work and the films, I decided to UNDERSTAND pipe smoking. Thanks to Muttnchop and you, I now understand. I have been pipe smoking for 3 weeks now and really getting it. Just wanted to tell you a little story. :) * currently smoking Capt Black Platinum out of a $35 Crown Castle 1004 briar pipe lol. One day I hope to have a collection like you and Mr. Muttn! I am not sure of the strongest tobacco I have had, probably from a cigar. But I have not felt a nic-hit in a long time, so it made me curious about Rustica.

Thanks for a fantastic video! Demonstrating, contrasting and comparing all 3 methods in the same video, side by side is brilliant and helpful. I'm a fan of rather frequent tamping as i smoke a bowl down to refuce relights. I found that it's easy to "over-tamp" (add THAT to the lexicon) when using the cube or especially the fold and stuff method. The 1st time I used that method, I ended up having loosen up the tobacco with the pick on my Czech tool. Sice then, I've gotten the feel for it and really enjoy the fold and stuff method. With coins, as well! Thanks for the informative video. Really enjoyed it!

This morning I did something I never do. After enjoying a bowl of Borkum Riff Black Cavendish in my Baraccini Mare Blu 673, I decided to watch this video. Being a fan of Half and Half, I figured I'd loosely fill a bowl of it in my Missouri Meerschaum Dwarf Cobbit just to accompany this video. What an enjoyable experience. Whoever said it's not good to smoke two different blends/pipes back-to-back? Thanks for your most enjoyable content. Cheers!

Thank you for this. I have long been revolted by Tolkien, especially the movies. However, you have brought to light an aspect that I was not aware of and might, as a pipe-smoker, be able to enjoy. Perhaps I'll take a second look.

Kevin I love listening to your reviews! You talked me into ordering this Bob's chocolate flake. . I've found a replacement on my list of faves for EMP. Been into Sam Gawith Skiff mixture for a week and it is a really interesting oriental forward english balkan that is very similar in some ways to my absolute fave Presbyterian mixture, but not the same for sure and that might be some of this lakeland essence you speak of here. Do you know the blend, does it have this to any extent? I can't seem to pick up on that part of it very much, maybe its just very lightly present. Also of note, you have made me think that after almost 45 years of dabbling in pipes that I needed to try a cob. Never have had one. So dove right in there and got a Dune Cobbit Shire. What a surprise my friend I'm amazed and Tombigbee is excellent in that pipe! As is every aromatic I've thrown at it.

Deer tongue is probably what you smell and taste. Try Cornell and Diehl Crooner and you'll get similar notes
